About Me

My photo
Whilst running round after two bambinos I set up www.kryshees.com making childrens clothes, unique childrens accessories, wonderful nurser adornments and yummy mummy type products. I love things bright and bold and try to bring these into childrens items.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I hope you all have a wonderful christmas with lots of merriment! I'm heading off to my mums this afternoon for our Polish start to christmas, then starting the trail of rellie-visiting. So I am getting this in early.

All my christmas sewing projects completed in the wee hours last night, lots of fudge made and all the presents wrapped and ready to pop into the car.

I even finished Emmies princess/party dress in the end. Pics will come later, but much packing to be done! Its amazing how much 'stuff' the four of us need for 3 days. Ok Ok, I only have about 6 outfits!!! :o)

Wishing you all a lovely christmas however you celebrate and see you just after!

Shhh, secret santa

Never before have I been so scared of my recipiets receiving my ss!!! But it is finally finished, I have to wrap it up all pretty, cover it head to toe in sellotape to prevent peaking! And then brave the cold outdoors to post it. ekkk

I used something really personal to the person and I'm praying they don't think I've hacked at it!

Well enough about that as, shhh its a secret!

As snug as a bug! My first crocheted hat!

Ok, so my crochet skills took a bit of a knock after getting the first couple of magazines of learn how  crochet. I got all confused, which admittedly doesn't take much these days!

And yes there were custard creams involved as bribery. And yes again, Emmie is sat on the sofa with her duvet (a special treat she informs me!)

I probably shoud have done some ear flaps, but perhaps the next one might get that treatment. I was quite amazed as the pattern was american so I managed to convert the sc to mean dc, if you tell me that was wrong, then I will cry. But it turned out roasy toasty in the end, and madam likes it, which is a much better response than the poncho of doom got last year....

Christmas Craft Friday!!!

So heres the deal, every friday and throughout the week, fellow crafters alike have agreed to promote each other in the christmas run up to bring to the public eye something perfectly special that would make amazing gifts!

So today let me introduce you to two of my fellow craftisans, Pete Bodrighy & Karen from Angelic Folk!

Bodrighy Wood. With Christmas coming and those really awkward relatives to buy for maybe something on his site at www.bodrighywood.co.uk would help. Wide range of prices and items, all hand made, most from local woods. Crafty things, arty things or downright practical things. You can also follow Pete's mental meanderings at http://bodrighy.blogspot.com/ if you are feeling particularly kind hearted.

Angelic Folk bespoke children’s clothing, handmade with love for your little angels.
When you buy from Angelic Folk you will be helping to raise money for the National Autistic Society, so you're even more special. http://www.angelicfolk.co.uk and www.angelicfolk.folksy.com

These are a few of my favourite things from their sites, but please visit them as they have more lovelies than I can even begin to think about!
Happy Christmas Shopping!

Is now on twitter

I have no idea.... http://twitter.com/#!/Kryshees but here goes!

Folksy Friday- Mushrooms

Ok ok, it is an odd title, but in weather like this all I want to eat is breaded parasol mushrooms and I can't because hubby is sooo allergic to them.. :o(

So my devotion to mushrooms...I'll have to go have a biscuit instead!

And one of my favourites, a Yew Mushroom Box by Bodrighy

I will confess to buying one similar to this from Bodrighy for my friends new baby as a tooth fairy holder type! It is hollowed out mushroom box to hide those lil treasures in!

Enjoy and have a lovely weekend!

A little more dress evasion - Some flower fripperies

So I really am avoiding those dresses! But a fun afternoon playing with my bigshot and some offcuts of leather and suede, fixed with a rivet. I attached a mobile phone finding so you could use as a key ring, handbag charm or something else frippery?! Would love to hear your feedback as I have made loads of these now and have no idea if they are appealing and/or sellable?

Its all about the bag!

So this week so far, I have been ignoring the pile of beautiful dresses I have cut out, and to keep me sane (!?) started on a batch of bags made from some wonderful coloured silk with a touchy black flocked design! This is the pink version, and available in gold, red, petrol blue (my fav!) and an autumnal brown.

Large image

I lined with them with a black cotton interior, a handy internal pocket and finished them off with a magnetic fastener!

They are now all in my folksy shop (phew) ....

.....so now for those dresses....or I might procrastinate further and make some huge doorstop mice since they have nearly all sold out!

Wet wednesday indeedy!

So the rain will be keeping us in mostly as the forest is damp and dismal, but it has however given me some time to pop some things onto my folksy shop.

I dearly love 'my' Elliefant and would rather someone buy him and give him to me! Tee hee, but alas on he went this morning along with a couple more dresses.
Large image

All my photos seem to be screaming little red riding hood in theme to me at the moment! Perhaps I should get a move on and make a little red cape too!

Finally!!! More cosy warm blankets on folksy.

Its time to wrap up nice and cosy, so more of my fleecey patch blankets have been listed on my folksy shop. I particularly love this vintage cream & lace combo with a brown spotty cotton and a funky flowery fabric I found last year.

Large image

But now its time to sit down with the babies to a wintery roast of crackly pork, roast tatties and veg with some scrummy roasted apples!

Happy sunday everyone!
